ALE Training provides alcohol server training to the Minnesota service industry (bars, restaurants, liquor stores, hotels, breweries and tap rooms). We have trained the staff of thousands of Minnesota businesses and have been doing so since 1987. We have partnered with, and are approved by the State of Minnesota and almost all cities, municipalities, and counties throughout the State. Our training is accepted by almost all liability insurance carriers.
Our 90-minute training provides the necessary skills and knowledge for service staff to avoid the liabilities associated with serving alcohol and THC in on-premise and off-premise situations. We provide all necessary materials, and a make-up class option throughout the year for new hires.
We select a date and time that works for you and your staff. We suggest setting aside 90 minutes but most trainings come in closer to one hour. The training can be conducted at your place of business in-person, or remotely but live via Zoom where staff can log-in from wherever they are. We provide necessary attendance verification at the conclusion of any session that you may need for insurance or licensing purposes.
We have four trainers that cover the State of Minnesota and it is safe to say that together, we have over 100 years of combined training experience.
Our Instructors
Miles Canning
Miles developed the training arm of our business in 1987. He has been providing training and consulting services to the service industry for more than 40 years. He lives part-time in downtown Minneapolis with his Wife, Pam. They spend a significant part of the year also in Manzanillo, Mexico.
Ben Gisselman
Ben is a practicing attorney in the City of Edina and has owned ALE Training since 2006. He has 25 years of experience providing training and consulting services to the service industry. His passion for the business comes from many years as a server and bartender in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He lives with his family in South Minneapolis.
Jill Bachmann
Jill has worked as a server and bartender in many well-known Minnesota bars and restaurants. She has been providing training services for ALE Training since 2008. Along with her industry training work, Jill also works as a ?. She lives with her significant other, Dan, in Andover, Minnesota, and despite our best efforts, she remains a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan.
Tony Bronson
Tony’s training services primarily focus on Duluth, Minnesota, and beyond in the northeastern part of the State. He has been providing training services for ALE Training for 30 years and also works as the Director of Business Development for Grandma’s Restaurant Company. He lives with his family in Superior, Wisconsin.
